The need to express yourself

Have you heard the lastest  tech device that has been sold to the public? The new ultimate Blue Tooth Software that is selling for $150.00, but if you go through the correct channels you can get it for $80.00.

What can this software do?  It can clone your cell phone – all the contacts, all the voice mails, all the photos, all the text messages, all the deleted information that you thought were discarded.  We knew that the FBI and the CIA had this kind of power to access your information for forensics purposes. But now you can have that same kind of power.

As a parent, you can access all of your kids text messages and the phone numbers that they have been calling throughout their days. As a spouse you can access your husband/wife’s  secret messages to their friend/lover/secret pal. And if you wanted to live dangerously you could have access to anyone’s phone and know all about their life.

It is kind of scary to think that whatever information we send out whether it is in the form of emails, text messages, instant messaging, voice messages can all be accessed within an instant. You thought you could delete your private and personal messages and it would be gone permanently?  Think again – no matter how many times it can go into the trash can and emptied, these wonderful techno devices can find those messages in an instant.  You could easily pickup someone’s cell phone and in 5 minutes or less clone everything that is on that phone. You could know about that individual without really knowing who they are but rather know who they communicate to and what they communicate about in their lives.

It seems so harmless that parents would want to know about their teenager’s life – where they are, who they are with, and what the latest gossip news is. But what happened to privacy? What happened to trust?  What happened to integrity?

As a teenager, maybe we need to think twice about what we send out from our phones.  And as a cheating spouse, maybe we should just stop cheating on our mate.

Whatever the case may be or who you are, we need to remember that no matter what technological devices we are using that we need to be careful the information we are sending out.  Nothing is forever erased, there are no secrets and there are no deletions. If you don’t want to get caught by the cops, by your parents, by your school, by your spouse, by your friends, than don’t be sending out information that can incriminate you for life.

  • michelle: Hi Luke, Thanks for your comments. You are right, we have been given a choice. But it makes me wonder about the choices we make - in bringing a child
  • Luke: I enjoyed reading your entry, very interesting concept. But I'm going to have to disagree with your arguing point. To question when we became God, bec
